What’s a day in the life of a Manufacturing Manager at Argonaut?
“My day kicks off with an interdepartmental meeting to align priorities and get the team ready for production,” Kevin shares. As the Manufacturing Manager for the Life Science Department, Kevin Golden orchestrates a dynamic production schedule spanning two shifts from 6 AM to 8:30 PM. “I focus on keeping the production floor running smoothly, addressing escalations, and setting the team up for success the next day.”
But Kevin Golden’s role is far from routine. Managing a team of 23, including supervisors, a scheduler, and associates, he interweaves quality control, material readiness, and workflow optimization. “It’s all about ensuring the team has what they need to deliver. Seeing it all come together cohesively is incredibly rewarding.”
How does your work drive Argonaut’s mission forward?

How do your personal interests shape your approach to manufacturing?
Kevin’s passion for cooking might surprise you, but he sees a natural connection between the kitchen and the production floor. “Cooking and manufacturing are surprisingly similar,” he laughs. “Both require precision, the right ingredients, and a quality recipe.”
While he enjoys his home kitchen, work is all about discipline. “At Argonaut, you can’t improvise. Every step and measurement matters, and that focus on precision ensures our partners’ products meet the highest standards.”
Can you share a moment when teamwork made the difference?
Kevin lights up as he recalls tackling a major challenge: an unreliable Kanban system that led to material shortages. He rallied a cross-functional team from finance, purchasing, and the warehouse to rework the system using the DMAIC framework. “We built something reliable, and now, I can’t even remember the last time we had a shortage. That’s teamwork at its finest!”
What advice do you have for others pursuing a demanding career in biotech?
“Stay positive and find the joy in what you do,” Kevin advises. “Challenges are part of the game, but if you’re not enjoying the process, it might be time to reconsider your role.”
He also emphasizes resilience and collaboration. “When you find a team that supports you and shares your goals, it makes all the difference.”
